Programs
Program consisting of different compositions by Atom String Quartet members
Customized program based on ASQ repertoir.
Seifert
The program consists of compositions by the outstanding Polish violinist – Zbigniew Seifert, arranged by ASQ musicians for an improvising string quartet. Most of these compositions were included on the ASQ album released in 2017 under the same title.
Penderecki
The program consists of masterpieces by Krzysztof Penderecki, translated by ASQ into the language of an improvising string quartet. Program includes: “Capriccio for tuba solo”, “3 Preludes for clarinet and piano”, “Prelude for solo clarinet” and “Three pieces in the old style” which were all included on the album released in 2019 entitled “PENDERECKI”. The interpretation of the music of this outstanding composer by the Atom String Quartet was appreciated by the composer himself, as well as by the audience and music critics.
Karłowicz Recomposed
feat. Szczecin Philharmonic Wind Quartet
The program includes songs by MieczysławKarłowicz arranged by the musicians of the ASQ for two quartets: string and woodwind. These works were recorded on the album “Karłowicz Recomposed” together with the soloists of the MieczysławKarłowicz Philharmonic in Szczecin and published by this institution. The songs presented here only in the instrumental version (without words) gained a new, absorbing sonic visage.
Music of polish composers arranged for improvising string quartet
The program includes works by Polish composers of various eras, arranged by the musicians of the ASQ for an improvising string quartet. They are: Fryderyk Chopin (Mazurka in C major, Op. 24 No. 2); Henryk Wieniawski (Souvenir de Posen, Souvenir de San Francisco, Souvenir de Moscou); MieczysławKarłowicz (song “Pod Jaworem”), WitoldLutosławski (“Two Etudes”) and Krzysztof Penderecki (selection of pieces from the album “Penderecki”).
Atom String Quartet with string orchestra
The program includes compositions by ASQ for an improvising quartet and string orchestra recorded on the albums “Made In Poland” and “Supernova”, such as: “Namysłowiak”, “Ballad about Janosik’s death”, “Happy”, “Supernova”, “Cosmos” or “Toccata ”.
Atom String Quartet with symphony orchestra
The program consists of 4 compositions (one by each ASQ member): “Quadruple Concert” by Krzysztof Lenczowski, “Why Like This” by DawidLubowicz, “Journey” by MichałZaborski and “Big Bang” by Mateusz Smoczyński. The wide range of sound and tone colour possibilities offered by the symphony orchestra’s instruments was reflected in the individual musicians’ pieces. Each of the composers presents a slightly different approach to orchestration, texture and proportions, thus conveying their individual approach to the orchestra’s performance apparatus. As a result a very interesting compilation of four diverse and original symphonic forms has been created.
