Concert „For Ptaszyn” on YouTube
Now, unexpectedly, we have quite a bit of time left, although, to be honest, I wasn’t prepared for this. Therefore, at the end of today’s program, I would like to play for you what I will start my next show with. And if you want to know what it is, then tune in next week. And now, I bid you goodnight. This was Three Quarters of Jazz. Spoken by Jan Ptaszyn Wróblewski.
With these words, Maestro Jan Ptaszyn Wróblewski ended his final broadcast last year. On Friday, March 28th, during a special concert dedicated to the Maestro, we performed pieces from our latest album Universum (including Atomizacje, which Ptaszyn used to close his last program) as well as Sprzedawcy Glonów, arranged by Mateusz Smoczyński.
The concert also featured Special Quartet, consisting of: Henryk Miśkiewicz – alto saxophone, Wojciech Niedziela – piano, Andrzej Święs – double bass, Krzysztof Gradziuk – drums.
Before the concert, a ceremony was held to name Studio M5 after the Maestro, the very place where he recorded his program. The event was accompanied by an exhibition of photographs by Jarosław Wierzbicki, who documented Ptaszyn’s work for nearly ten years.
The concert can be watched on the YouTube channel of Radio Trójka.
